Next Generation Eyeglasses Could Be Interactive Displays

Next Generation Eyeglasses

Next Generation Eyeglasses

Just like a touch interface uses touch and gesture, next generation eye glasses will probably use eye tracking for interaction to present content presented to the viewer. Wearers will be able to display new content, scroll through a menu or shift picture elements through eye movement or fixing on certain points in the image.

In a post tilted “Heads up! Interactive data eyeglasses” on ZDNet reports on a team of scientists at the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems IPMS in Dresden, Germany who have integrated their eye tracker technology and image reproduction on a CMOS chip. Apples New Mac Book Pros Are Affordable, Maintain FireWire 800 and a Surprise SD Media

Apple's New Mac Book Pros Are Affordable, Maintain FireWire 800 and a Surprise SD Media!

Wow! Today’s announcements from Apple at their 2009 WWDC packed a few surprises. For me Apple dropping the ExpressCard slot in favor of FireWire 800 and an SD media slot was an important move. The lower price on their Mac Books is an important factor as well.

Ahh! Nothing like a FireWire 800 9 pin to 4 pin FireWire Cable

Ahh! Nothing like a FireWire 800 9 pin to 4 pin FireWire 400 Cable

I’ve always been a fan of FireWire and even though the connection is FireWire 800 conversion cables are available to connect 6 and 4 pin connections to the computer. As for SD media, that makes really good sense as well.

Ahh! Nothing like a FireWire 800 9 pin to 6 pin FireWire Cable As Well!

Is This The Interface To The Newspaper Of The Future?

I could not help but throw up a quick blog post about this post that appeared on the Fast Company website on June 1 titled “News Flash From the Future: What Will Journalism Look Like?”.

Newspaper Will Be Linked To Other Information Sources For Up To Date Information On Many Aspects Making Reporting Hyper-Local

I recommend you take a look at the post in its entirety as its quite compelling but in a nutshell the article showcases two environments that shows news more personalized and hyper-local. Nope the advertisements haven’t gone away in fact they are more communal, participatory, and global.
